OUR ROOTS

The concept of beautifully designed caps with conscience came from while our founder was studying Millinery as a part-time course while raising 2 small boys. While looking at photos of her Scottish/Jamaican father she saw that he often wore brightly coloured vibrant flat caps. Living in Yorkshire at the time she began to research and found that the majority of the flat caps were either made overseas or were very subdued in their design and colour.

So as part of the project she decided to make a collection of caps manufactured locally and with fabrics woven in Yorkshire mills from Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield. The caps were designed in colourful tweeds, cords and linens with a contrast under-peak which became the signature style of KM.

So in 2013 KM Headwear was born and at 9.15am on July 29th we sold our first flat cap on a self built website..and that was the beginning of this flat cap adventure!

Over the years we have sold our caps in over 34 different countries from Belgium to Barbados with our unique caps being worn by happy customers all across the globe.

GOING FORWARD

From Autumn 2025 onwards, KM Headwear will be embarking on an exciting new chapter with a new team including marketing, sales and exciting new collections.
